mckenzie moser

writer | director

McKenzie Moser is a Los Angeles-based writer and director who lived a double life early in her career. Her time as a substance abuse counselor on Skid Row influenced her work, which merges dark comedy and mental health (or lack thereof).

Moser and her work have been featured at Gotham Week, the Santa Fe International Film Festival, the St. Louis International Film Festival, Toronto International Women Film Festival and others. She’s consulted for projects at Simon & Schuster, MGM, Sony and Paramount Pictures. She has written for podcasts, interactive apps and original content for audiences of 200+ million subscribers. She received her MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

Moser is a MO Stories Scriptwriting Fellow, Film Office Production Lab Grantee/Award Winner and Ken Haller Playwriting Award Winner. In 2024, her short film “Disordered, Recovered, Whatever” won the Film Office Production Lab Grant. Her screenplays have been selected for the Launch Pad Prose Competition, HollyShorts and the Austin Film Festival.

Now, she’s developing her next project and fighting for her life against the daily Wordle.
